The Ultimate Gift Guide for College Students

The Ultimate Gift Guide for College Students

It’s that time of year!! When we all start thinking about the holidays..before we even celebrate Thanksgiving! Haha but it’s kind of a must this year..shipping has been taking so long and stores have more items out of stock, omg we do need to start planning and ordering gifts now so they get here on time! Sometimes it’s hard to think of ideas for gifts! Let alone gifts to get just for college students, guys and girls. Here’s a list of things college students would definitely want and use in any year of school!

the ultimate gift guide for college students
  1. A warm winter coat

Ya know those guys in high school that never wore a coat to school during the winter? Yeah, they need one in college and they will realize it! Most students are walking 15+ minutes to class, let’s help them make it a little less miserable by being warm!

2. Good winter boots

For the same reasons above, these are essential! There are so many winter boots now that are fashionable and super warm! The brand Sorel has some great options!

3. Yeti or Hydro Flask

I don’t know about you, but taking some hot chocolate to class or to an outdoor winter activity sounds pretty nice, and I want it to stay hot!

5. Sweaters

Having a thick sweater is so nice to just throw on and not have to wear four layers!

6. Carhartt Beanie

All the kids are wearin’ ’em these days! Stylish and practical.

7. Extra long charger

This is so helpful, I tried getting away with the normal length one you get with your new phone my freshman year and was always trying to find an open outlet near where I was sitting cause the cord wouldn’t reach! Especially if your student is in a dorm room, there is really only like two outlets in the room!

8. Fairy lights/LED strip lights

The lighting in college housing is usually pretty minimal so these lights are perfect for functionality and décor. Lots of fairy lights come with clips as well, so you can hang pictures on the light strand!

9. Mini waffle maker

Small so it doesn’t take up much room, and useful for many types of meals, not just waffles!

10. Beats Pill Bluetooth Speaker

Let’s just say this is on my list because the people living above me have one, and I hear their music allll the time…SO I’d like for them to enjoy my obnoxiously loud music as well;) haha jk but not really..

11. Reusable straws with cleaner

If you didn’t know, using a straw can actually help you to drink more water throughout the day! But honestly they are hard to clean and probably get kinda nasty, but we want to save the planet and not use plastic, so reusable straws that come with a cleaner brush are a great option!

12. Portable projector

Perfect for the Netflix marathons we all try to deny watching instead of doing homework;) This is a great alternative so you don’t have to invest in a big, hard to move, TV.

13. Netflix/Hulu/HBO Max subscriptions

The poor college student life is real, this would be great gift to help a gal or guy out.

15. Smartphone printer

Such a fun idea for kids to instantly print out their captured memories and display the photos!

16. Portable charger

The busy college student that is out all day at class (or tailgating) needs this!

17. Apple AirPods

If your student does not have these already (me lol) I’m sure they want them! Listen to music and charge your phone at the same time!? I forgot that was a thing!

18. Make up/toiletry bag

These are very useful when you have to share a bathroom, or you are spending the night with a friend, being able to have a bag with all you need in it is a must!

19. Dress clothes

Most kids don’t have that many dress clothes or work clothes going into college, but interviews and career fairs are right around the corner so it’s a good time to start building up that wardrobe.

20. Cards Against Humanity, For The Girls

Idk why but these games always get pulled out when friends get together…actually I do know why, they are super fun;)

21. Tile Mate

Track your phone, wallet, keys, anything you need with the Bluetooth Tile!

22. Planner/Journal

A planner should be mandatory for every student haha, making notes on your phone isn’t always good enough, physically writing things down is so much better. A journal would be great to encourage them to take time to relax from their busy schedule and sketch or write down their thoughts.

23. Microwavable safe dishware and storage containers

I use as little dishware/silverware/containers as I possibly can because that means less dishes to wash! No one wants to take leftovers out of a container and put them in something else to heat them up, let’s make this as simple as we can!

24. Gift cards to restaurants around campus

Look up what restaurants are around your student’s campus and treat them to a nice lunch or dinner for a switch up from the normal cafeteria food!

25. Memberships to a gym or their campus rec center

Fitness passes can be expensive, and I’m sure that is used as another reason to not workout haha, gift them a yoga or spin class if you think that would be something they would enjoy to relieve some stress and get some exercise in!

best,
